Terms of Service

Welcome to Hello Angie (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Hello Angie”). By using our invoice reminder service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

1. Definitions

“Client” (also “you” or “your”) refers to any consultant, freelancer, small business owner, or other individual or entity that signs up for and uses the Hello Angie service.

“Debtor” refers to any third party who owes an outstanding invoice or payment to a Client and whose contact information is submitted to Hello Angie for the purpose of sending payment reminders.

“Service” refers to the Hello Angie invoice reminder service, including all email-based communications, reminder sequences, status updates, and related features.

2. Description of Service

Hello Angie is a smart invoice reminder service. We send friendly, professional reminders to your Debtors on your behalf when invoices are overdue. We are not a debt collection agency, law firm, or financial institution. We do not collect payments, access bank accounts, report to credit bureaus, or make threats of legal action.

Our service provides gentle nudges — polite, persistent email reminders designed to prompt payment while preserving your client relationships. We may also offer text message and phone call reminders as additional outreach channels (when available), subject to Client authorization.

All payments from Debtors are made directly to you through your existing payment methods (Stripe, Venmo, bank transfer, Zelle, check, etc.). Hello Angie never processes, holds, or touches any funds owed to you.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your business. By using our service, you represent that you have a legitimate, good-faith basis for each invoice you submit and that the amounts owed are accurate and not subject to dispute that you have not disclosed to us.

4. Account Registration & Communication

Our service is managed entirely by email. You do not need to create an account through a portal or dashboard. Your service relationship begins when you email us to start your free trial and we confirm enrollment. All instructions, invoice submissions, status requests, pauses, and cancellations are handled via email to linda@sayhellotolinda.com.

You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you provide, including Debtor contact information, invoice amounts, and due dates.

5. Invoice Submission & Implied Permission

By submitting an invoice to Hello Angie, you represent and warrant that:

  • The invoice is legitimate, accurate, and reflects a genuine debt owed to you for goods or services rendered.
  • You have the legal right to pursue collection of the amounts owed.
  • You have provided your Debtor with prior notice that overdue invoices may be followed up on via email, phone, or text message by you or a representative acting on your behalf.
  • Uploading an invoice to Hello Angie constitutes your affirmation that you have given your Debtor adequate notice that they may be contacted by email on your behalf regarding outstanding invoices.

5a. Communication Channels

By default, Hello Angie contacts Debtors via email only. If you wish for Hello Angie to also contact your Debtors by text message, phone call, or both (when available), you must provide explicit written permission specifying which channels are authorized. This written permission can be provided via email to us.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have obtained any required consents from your Debtors under applicable law (including but not limited to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, CAN-SPAM Act, and any applicable state laws) before authorizing Hello Angie to contact them via text or phone.

6. Pricing & Payment

  • Free trial: 30 days, no credit card required. Up to 15 invoices.
  • Monthly subscription: $97 per month for up to 15 overdue invoices. Additional invoices are available at an additional cost.
  • Satisfaction guarantee: If no invoice is collected during your first paid month, you receive an additional 30 days free.
  • No contracts: Cancel anytime by emailing us. There are no long-term commitments, setup fees, or hidden charges.

Subscription fees are billed monthly. You are responsible for payment of all applicable fees. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days’ notice.

7. What Hello Angie Is Not

To be clear, Hello Angie is not any of the following:

  • A debt collection agency regulated under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • A law firm or provider of legal advice
  • A financial institution or payment processor
  • A credit reporting service

We do not report debts to credit bureaus, threaten legal action, garnish wages, or engage in any collection activity beyond sending polite, professional reminders. If an invoice requires formal collection or legal action, we recommend consulting an attorney or licensed collection agency.

8. Client Responsibilities

As a Client, you agree to:

  • Submit only legitimate invoices for actual goods or services rendered.
  • Provide accurate Debtor contact information (email addresses, phone numbers if authorizing calls or texts).
  • Notify Hello Angie promptly when an invoice has been paid, disputed, or should be removed from reminder sequences.
  • Ensure your Debtors have been given prior notice that they may be contacted regarding overdue invoices.
  • Not use the service for harassment, fraud, or any unlawful purpose.
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding the invoices you submit and the debts they represent.

9. Data Handling & Deletion

We take data handling seriously. Please also refer to our Privacy Policy for full details. Key commitments:

  • Paid invoices: Once you notify us that an invoice has been paid, all data related to that invoice (Debtor contact information, invoice details, reminder history) is deleted from our systems.
  • Account cancellation: When you cancel your account, all of your data — including Client information, Debtor information, invoice records, and communication history — is permanently deleted from our systems.
  • No data sales: We never sell, rent, share, or trade your data or your Debtors’ data with any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose. Period.

10. Intellectual Property

The Hello Angie name, logo, website design, reminder templates, and all related materials are the property of Hello Angie. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

Hello Angie provides a reminder service only. We do not guarantee that any Debtor will pay any invoice. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Hello Angie is not liable for any unpaid invoices, lost revenue, damaged business relationships, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the fees you paid to Hello Angie in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
  • The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hello Angie, its owner, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from: (a) your use of the service; (b) invoices you submit that are inaccurate, fraudulent, or disputed; (c) your failure to obtain required consents from Debtors; or (d) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

13. Termination

You may cancel your service at any time by emailing us at linda@sayhellotolinda.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Upon cancellation, all your data is permanently deleted as described in Section 9.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you are using the service in violation of these Terms, for fraudulent purposes, or in a manner that could expose Hello Angie to legal liability.

14. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree with revised Terms, you may cancel your account.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State in which Hello Angie operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
